Yemi Osibanjo, vice president of Nigeria, is said to be recovering well from surgery on his broken thigh bone at an international hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, which was performed as a result of an accident he had while playing squash.
Vice President Osinajo’s condition is stabilizing, according to a statement made on Wednesday by the hospital’s medical director, Dr. Adedoyin Dosunmu-Ogunbi.
The statement said, “His Excellency Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, continues to make good progress at the Duchess International Hospital, Ikeja.
Dr. Adedoyin said that His Excellency is presently having physiotherapy and moving around fairly well on crutches following a successful operation to fix a fracture of his right femur (thigh bone) on Saturday.
In order to promote healing and rehabilitation toward his regular active condition, the goal of this stage of treatment is to limit weight-bearing on his right leg.
“The Vice President’s postoperative care has gone smoothly in every way thus far. His multidisciplinary team of medical professionals—including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals—is very happy with his progress.
“We will keep the public informed on the status of his therapy,”
