Dr. Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, has promised to change the Northern part of Nigeria through agriculture if elected president of Nigeria in 2023.

He made this promise at a virtual meeting with the Labour Party support groups on Friday.
Obi said, “I am going to change the region. We need to farm on arable lands there. Some renowed Nigerians from the North have governed this country, but the ten poorest states are from the northern region.”

He promised to focus more on the North region due to their enormous potential that needs to be tapped and controlled and made use of.
“The economic misfortunes rising from poor leadership scheme do not discriminate on the basis of religion or tribe,” he stated.

He said the country’s Governmrnt should stop the repeatation of the same methods that dosen’t work out.

“There is nowhere in Nigeria where a person buys cheaper bread because he is a Muslim or a Christian,” he said.

The Labour Party candidate urged citizens not to vote for him or any 2023 contestant on ethnic or religious considerations.

Obi stated his credentials and antecedents are subject to scrutiny and noted that he is the most qualified candidate for the presidency.

I am the only governor in the history of Nigeria who served for eight years, left money behind, created infrastructure, and had no debts to contractors, salaries, or pensions, he claimed.

According to him, “the North will constantly stay grateful,” he stated.

Obi said, “The region has the worst school kidnapping record globally, the most out-of-school children, and the worst rate of young unemployment.

“(The) 2023 election must be on competence, character, and what you done before, not entitlements based on religion or ethnicity,” he stated.
