The IPOB names Mazi Chika Edoziem as their interim leader in an effort to secure Nnamdi Kanu’s release.
According to a fresh disclosure made on Monday and published by Dailypost, Mazi Edoziem would resume his role as the Indigenous People of Biafra’s leader until the group’s leader Nnamdi Kanu is released from prison.
The following is from a statement the group issued on Monday 8th August 2022 reads:
“For the avoidance of misunderstanding, Mazi Chika Edoziem, head of the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS), is in charge of the Biafra movement’s operations. Whenever our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU appears on the scene, he returns the IPOB structure to him.”
Up to Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest and detention in prison by the Department of State Security DSS, Mr Edoziem, according to reports, was the group’s second-in-command.
